We Are His Appeal

So today was Day 13 of DWG and it's all about our mission/purpose. We have the greatest mission on earth, which was also Jesus' mission: to reconcile others to God.

I love that 2 Corinthians 5:20 says that we are Christ's ambassadors, as though God was making His appeal through us. That just strikes me as so powerful - that God is making an appeal to the world through us.

The actual Greek word for appeal is par-ak-al-eh'-o and it means to personally make a call (pará means "from close-beside" and kaléō, means "to call"). God is personally calling others through us. We are His voice. The world needs us.

When we people hear us speak, do they hear the call of God? Do the words that come out of our mouths sound like an appeal? Do our lives appeal to others and reflect Christ? Do we feel the weight of the responsibility that we have? So much to reflect on!
