It's Time To Emerge

Another great morning with God for Day 7 of DWG.

My takeaway for today is IT'S TIME TO EMERGE. I love this Scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:17:

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

It's all about emerging from the old to the new - becoming more of who God is, becoming more of who we are. It's a transformational process, of becoming, of coming into view, of being seen, of being a light. It requires motion, movement and growth.

In the beginning when the earth was formless and empty, God emerged and He created life and made himself known. When this world needed a Saviour, Jesus emerged and He gave his life.

Many of the men and women in the Bible had to emerge from their shell, their fears, their insecurities and their old ways to fulfill God's call on their lives. We do, too.

Emergence isn't a once and done thing. It's a daily thing. It's a lifelong thing. It's an intentional thing.

The old has gone. But, has it? Are we still holding on to what's past? Are we living in the past? Are we clinging to old hurts, old ways, old thinking? Are we trying to cocoon and shield ourselves from what we fear? Are we too comfortable and afraid to take risks?

Forget the past. Disregard it. Put it out of sight and out of mind. God wants to make us new in Christ.

We need to keep moving forward. We need to be future-focused. Our eyes need to be straining towards what is ahead, not looking forlornly at what is behind.

It's time to emerge. What do you need to emerge from?
